Key Features and Usage
Vancomycin Injection 500mg is mainly indicated for treating serious infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria, such as methicillin-resistant staphylococci. The medicine must be administered intravenously, making it suitable exclusively for use in healthcare settings under professional supervision. Its efficacy and prescription-only status ensure it is used where most beneficial.
How to Prepare and Store the Solution
To reconstitute, dissolve the powder in 10 ml sterile water for injection. Once reconstituted, further dilute as required before intravenous infusion. The reconstituted solution should be used within 24 hours if stored at 2C-8C. Always keep the vial protected from light and stored in a cool environment for optimal potency.

Vancomycin should not be mixed with other antibiotics in the same IV solution to avoid incompatibility. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to vancomycin. Use only as directed by a healthcare professional, who will determine the correct dosage based on your condition and age.
