Each capsule contains 305mg ferrous fumerate BP which approximates to 100mg elemental iron.
Description:
Iron is essential for the production of haemoglobin, which is the pigment that makes red blood cells red. Haemoglobin is very important as it carries oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body and also carries the waste product carbon dioxide back to the lungs.
If someone has an iron deficiency it means that there is not enough oxygen being carried around the body. This can cause tiredness, breathlessness, palpitations, dizziness and headache and is known as anaemia.
Iron is found naturally in certain foods, but for some people who do not get enough iron from their normal diet an iron supplement can be useful. Some conditions can also cause iron deficiency, such as pregnancy or heavy periods.
Ferrous Fumerate is a type of iron. It is used to treat iron deficiency anemia (this is where your body is lacking the red blood cells, caused by the loss of iron intake).

DO NOT take ferrous fumerate if: You know that you are allergic to ferrous fumarate or any of the other ingredients or to any other medicine containing iron You have noticed blood in your urine You suffer from any form of anaemia, other than iron deficiency anaemia, or from any other condition where your bodyïs iron is affected (your doctor will be able to advise you) You have bronze markings on your skin or you have been told that you have increased stores of iron in your tissues You are suffering from a recently diagnosed stomach or duodenal ulcer You are undergoing repeated blood transfusions You suffer from ulcerative colitis or any other inflammatory condition of the bowels. Speak to your doctor if any of these apply to you before you take your medicine.
